Live Like a Waterford Local

Waterford homes are known for capturing much of the town’s historic charm without looking or feeling rundown. From quaint and cozy mid-century ramblers to sizable two-story estates, Waterford offers a space to fit any household size. Lot sizes typically range from half-acre properties to over an acre of greenery to call your own. You may even come across refinished homes made to look like wintry log cabins and triplexes divided into multiple rental units.

If there’s one thing Waterford can deliver, it’s a peaceful way of living. Much of the town’s history remains intact, from antiquated buildings to gems hidden within Mother Nature’s growth. Waterford will keep you occupied with its historical neighborhoods, but you can also head out to Erie for a bit more of a livelier environment. It’s merely a 30-minute drive to head into town and take advantage of shops and restaurants.

Much of the employment for Waterford residents comes from Erie and its metro area. The larger city houses several manufacturing plants, but emerging employment tends to be in broadcasting and telecommunications, education, and medicine. With tourism bringing in travelers from all over, there’s a considerable industry in showcasing the best the city offers.

Waterford students are serviced by the Fort LeBoeuf School District, with multiple elementary schools despite the smaller population. Having a smaller class of students benefited the school district, earning it positive remarks for its teachers. There are also several charter schools, like Perseus House in Erie, but those in public school will graduate through Fort Leboeuf Senior High School.
