Also located nearby is Erie Bluffs State Park, a 587-acre park and the largest undeveloped stretch of Erie shoreline, with 90-foot bluffs overlooking the water. Downtown Girard and the municipality provide many jobs to residents, as does the stretch of retailers and eateries along Main Street going in and out of town. Norfolk Southern transportation support is among the largest employers for Girard residents.
