Top Summer Staging Tips for the Exterior of Your Home
Staging a home is a very important part of the selling process! Recent statistics from stagedhomes.com show that 94% of homes that were given a staged appearance sold in 29 days or less. That’s a pretty impressive fact!
Top summer outdoor staging tips include:
Staging the front of the home: Stand across the street and try to look at your home objectively. Trim overgrown trees from the bottom up. Cut shrubs from the top down, rounding them to the bottom of the windows- to allow maximum light to enter the room. Make sure the grass is cut and watered. Brown spots? Try your hand at spray painting the dead, dry grass green! Simply take a blade of grass to the paint store and color match it.
Keeping the outside organized: Make sure that trash cans are put away in the garage, or set aside neatly on the side of the house. Buyers should only see a well maintained yard and should not be distracted.
Adding some beauty and color: Group colorful potted plants together on the front porch. Add a fresh coat of paint to the front door. Display an American flag on the end of the house.
Making the backyard patio appear larger: Place no more than one lounger, one side table, chairs and an umbrella. Add a rug to give a cozy feel!
Cleaning up the deck: Sand or repaint the deck to give a clean and bright appearance. Add pots of colorful flowers. Be sure to clean the barbeque grill!
Cool air temperature: Keep the air conditioner on if buyers are on their way. A comfortable air temperature will encourage buyers to linger.
And remember….your home should be clutter free. You can’t sell it if your buyer can’t see it!
