Prohibit Private Transfer Fees
The Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® is pleased to announce that the bill to prohibit private transfer fees (Senate Bill 1481) was unanimously voted out of the Senate and has moved to the House Urban Affairs Committee. The REALTOR® voice was most definitely heard in the Senate over the last couple of weeks with a flood of almost 4,000 calls-to-action. Your commitment to the real estate industry and this issue was evident to everyone. As always, don't forget to thank your Senator for their support!
No one ever said this was going to be easy: The House plans to return to session on November 8th for three days. In that time, we must urge the House Urban Affairs Committee to vote favorably on SB 1481 and convince the 203 members of the House to pass the bill. With your continued support, we can make this happen. In the coming weeks, we will call on you again to respond to calls-to-action to your State Representative.
Here's how you can help now: Check the list of Representatives that are on the House Urban Affairs Committee. If yours is a member, give them a call and ask them to urge Committee leadership to move SB 1481 on NOVEMBER 8th. If your Representative is not on the list, it's still a great idea to send an email, make a call or stop by their office to educate them on the issue. Click here and use your home zip code to find your legislator. After you make your contacts, please take a few minutes and fill out the Legislative Visit Form so we can identify which legislators already support our position and who will need follow-up.
Thank you again for your continued support!
